These terms govern every sale made through this website to consumers resident in the United Kingdom. Placing an order means you accept them. They do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Our knives are bladed articles. In accordance with the Criminal Justice Act 1988 and the Offensive Weapons Act 2019, we only sell to customers aged 18 or over. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. Parcels are delivered with signature and will not be handed to a person who appears to be under 18. We reserve the right to cancel any order where we have reason to believe the buyer is under 18.
Products are described as accurately as possible; photographs are for illustration and colours may vary slightly with screen settings. Handle finishes in wood or resin are unique and may show natural variations. Dimensions and weights are taken from the manufacturer's specifications and may vary by a few millimetres or grams. Our knives are designed in the Japanese tradition and manufactured by partner workshops to our specifications.
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and, unless stated otherwise at checkout, exclude any UK import VAT or duty that may be charged by the carrier on delivery (see Shipping Policy). Delivery within the UK is free. Any "was" price shown is the price at which the product was previously offered on this site or the total value of the knives sold individually, as stated on the product page. We may change prices at any time, but the price charged is the one displayed when you place your order.
Your order is an offer to buy. We send an acknowledgement email when we receive it; the contract is formed when we send you the dispatch confirmation. We may refuse or cancel an order in case of payment problems, suspected fraud, unavailability of the product, an obvious pricing error or non-compliance with the age restriction; any amount already paid is refunded in full.
Payment is taken at the time of ordering by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, PayPal or Klarna. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and the relevant provider; we never store your card details. Where you choose Klarna, Klarna's own terms apply to the credit agreement.
See our Shipping Policy. Delivery is free to the UK, dispatch within 24 hours, delivery within 7 to 10 days. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery; ownership passes on receipt of full payment.
See our Refund & Returns Policy. You have 14 days from delivery to cancel, and every knife is covered by a 2-year guarantee against manufacturing defects.
Knives are sharp tools. Keep them out of the reach of children, use them only for food preparation, and follow the care instructions supplied. We are not liable for injury or damage resulting from misuse.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise our liability for any loss arising from a sale is limited to the price paid for the products concerned. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made, or for business losses.
The Maison Kireru name, logo, texts, photographs and designs on this site are the property of VELORIA SASU or its licensors and may not be reproduced without written permission.
We process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy in the part of the UK where you live. If you have a complaint, contact us first at info@maisonkireru.co.uk; we aim to resolve every complaint within 14 days. You may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform or a UK certified ADR provider. The courts of England and Wales (or of your part of the UK) have jurisdiction.
