Our Story

Some objects change the way you see things. Not spectacularly. Not all at once. But little by little, through use. A Japanese knife is one of them.

Our story - philosophy

Where it started

A fascination that became a conviction

It all began with a fascination for Japanese cuisine — not only its flavours, but its philosophy. The conviction that the gesture counts as much as the ingredient. That precision is not a constraint but a form of respect for what you prepare.

That the tool, when it is the right one, disappears in the hand and leaves all the room to the cook.

Our story - the house

The house

Born from a gap

When we wanted to equip ourselves seriously, we kept finding the same thing: exceptional Japanese knives were either out of reach in price or impossible to find. Between supermarket knives and collectors' pieces, there was no room for demanding cooks who deserve tools worthy of their passion.

Maison Kireru was born from that gap. “Kireru”: Japanese for cutting cleanly. “Maison”: the place where everything happens, where gestures are repeated and perfected. A French house with a Japanese soul.

Made for chopping boards, not display cases

Katachi, Chef OKAZA, Nishikigoi, Kuro Damas: four ranges for people who really cook.
